  1. a simple armory before going on a mission sort of like fables however for fps’s not rpg’s and for rpg’s go like skyrim 🙂

  2. Monster Hunter Battle menu was very well done imo. You can’t pause but you can organize it before fighting monsters & it was easy to control. You can use things like traps bombs & ammo for long range weapons. & I think that this kind of menu could be used for rpgs & what not.

  3. That’s a whole different thing. It’s an action game, you don’t need menus. For RPGs like Skyrim for an example, a large amount of time you’ll be spending time in the menus, changing/upgrading armor, weapons, potions etc…

  4. what about uncharted 3? i played it and the menus were the best i have seen you dont need it to equip weapons items etc and you can allso turn some of them in game(subtitles) i think it is THE game with menus

  5. I think fable 3 has one of the best menus ibe ever seen in a game its lik the game never pauses except gor wen u wanna save ur game

  6. Monster hunter is the best presentation of menus. the only actual menu was the pick/load your character screen. yes it did have a pause menu for in depth stuff but it wasnt needed to do basic things. it still had a mini item selector that didnt interrupt gameplay at all, thus became a part of it. the monster hunter series mastered all types of menus at the same time.

  7. yes he obviously knows that but he is just talking about how most badly executed menus break up the immersion of you playing a game.

  8. You should have touched on DeadSpace’s approach to menus. I think they did a fantastic job of not breaking the immersion of the game.
